Upcoming Changes to Online Class Offerings

Over the past two years, Brass Butterflies pivoted in response to the Covid-19 pandemic by starting to offer many of our signature non-curriculum classes live online via Zoom. Many of you have joined us regularly to stay engaged, in touch, and in ready-to-fly condition. Your support has meant the world to us and we’ve loved spending this virtual time with you when we weren’t able to be together in person. Now, as restrictions continue to ease, and we are starting to bring classes back into the studio, we are pivoting again and have made the decision to focus our efforts on re-building our in-studio offerings. The in-person group class experience is what Brass Butterflies excels at; building that feeling of community and support in a small group environment.

In the March/April term, we will begin the transition away from scheduled, live online non-curriculum classes. We have reduced the weekly schedule down to two live online classes on Mondays. By the summer, provided conditions continue to improve and government restrictions continue to ease, we will have phased live online classes out. We know that some of you became members from afar and are not in a position to attend live classes in Waterloo. We will miss seeing you online and hope you can visit us in person one day. We also know that many of you have come to enjoy the convenience of being able to do some of your training from home, even if you do also attend classes in the studio. In recognition of this, we will be shifting our “online” focus to developing and improving our Video On-Demand Library (VODL). You can still have the convenience of doing some, or all of your fitness, flexibility, and dance training at home, with the added convenience of doing it whenever it is convenient for you!

The VODL already contains dozens of recordings of the live Zoom classes from the past two years including Fit and Flexy, Ready to Fly (total body conditioning for pole and aerials), Relax and Restore (mobility and recovery class), Chair Dancing, Ballet Barre, and even a couple of pole warm-ups and flows. We are committed to continuing to add thoughtfully created and curated content to the VODL in the coming months and years, creating an invaluable resource for our students to complement and supplement their pole and aerial practices.

If you have a membership or a pass that you purchased primarily to use for attending live online classes, please touch base with us so we can help find a solution that works for you.
