Showcases by Brass Butterflies are a celebration of our students' accomplishments and our studio community. As a student, there are a couple of different ways that you can perform in a showcase. You can participate in an instructed troupe (a series of classes where you learn group choreography, instructed by a Brass Butterflies instructor), or you can apply to perform a DIY (Do It Yourself / Self-choreographed) act.
We have TWO incredible showcases coming up this summer! The first will be our Sizzlin’ Summer Cabaret (Pole and Burlesque, adults only) which will be held at Maxwell’s Concerts and Events, Waterloo, on Friday, July 5, 2024. This show will feature pole dancing, burlesque, drag, comedy, singing, and more! Will you be part of the magic?
The second will be our Summer Circus Showcase feature aerial and ground circus acts that will be fun for the whole family. This spectacular will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 in the Brass Butterflies Studio. You don’t have to run away to join the circus! Come fly with us!
Summer 2024 Performance Troupes
All Levels Pole Performance Troupe with Sarah
Cost: $239.99+HST (same as an 8 week curriculum purchase option) or use your membership curriculum credits + costume.
Join Sarah for a special choreography series that will culminate in a group performance at the Brass Butterflie Sizzling Summer Cabaret show at Maxwell's Concerts and Events in Waterloo on Friday, July 5, 2024.
All levels of pole students, age 19+, who have completed at least one session of Intro to Pole at Brass Butterflies (or equivalent) are welcome to join. Please note the age restriction is due to this being a licensed event with adult themes.
Class Dates: Thursdays 8:30 - 9:30pm, May 2 - June 20, 2024
SCHEDULING NOTE: There are 8 scheduled weekly one-hour group lesson times prior to the show. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled at mutually agreed upon times at the instructor's discretion. A dress rehearsal will be held in the studio during the week before the show. All group lessons and additional rehearsals as well as participation in the show are included in the session fee.
Classic Burlesque Group Performance and Act Creation with Sassy Ray
Cost: $239.99+HST (same as an 8 week curriculum purchase option) or use your membership curriculum credits + costume.
In this 8 week session, you will learn classic burlesque style group choreography that you will perform on stage at our Brass Butterflie Sizzling Summer Cabaret show at Maxwell's Concerts and Events in Waterloo on Friday, July 5, 2024. You will also have the opportunity to create your very own DIY burlesque act, if that is of interest to you. Sassy will guide you through learning the steps and polishing the group routine in a supportive group atmosphere.
Class Dates: Tuesdays 6:10 - 7:10pm, May 7 - June 25, 2024
SCHEDULING NOTE: There are 8 scheduled weekly one-hour group lesson times prior to the show. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled at mutually agreed upon times at the instructor's discretion. A dress rehearsal will be held in the studio during the week before the show. All group lessons and additional rehearsals as well as participation in the show are included in the session fee.
Chair Dancing Performance Troupe with Andrea
Cost: $239.99+HST (same as an 8 week curriculum purchase option) or use your membership curriculum credits + costume.
Join Andrea for this 8 week series to learn a sassy chair dancing routine. Incorporating floorwork, chair tricks, and lots of hair whips, you will meet weekly for 1 hour to learn a group chair dancing routine that you will perform on stage at our Brass Butterflies Sizzling Summer Cabaret show at Maxwell's Concerts and Events in Waterloo on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Class Dates: Sundays 12:20 - 1:20pm, May 5 - June 23, 2024

Mixed Aerial Performance Troupe for Summer Circus Showcase 2024 with Emily
Cost: $239.99+HST (same as an 8 week curriculum purchase option) or use your membership curriculum credits + costume.
In this special 8 week aerial choreography series, you will come together as a group to create a group aerial routine to be performed at the Summer Circus Showcase to be held in the Brass Butterflies studio on Saturday, July 13, 2024. This will be a mixed level and mixed apparatus performance and your part in the act will be appropriate to your experience and apparatus preferences.
All levels of aerial students who have completed at least one term of Beginner Level Aerials at Brass Butterflies (or equivalent) are welcome to join.
Class Dates: Wednesdays 8:30 - 9:30pm, May 1 - June 19, 2024
SCHEDULING NOTE: There are 8 scheduled weekly one-hour group lesson times prior to the show. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled at mutually agreed upon times at the instructor's discretion. A dress rehearsal will be held in the studio during the week before the show. All group lessons and additional rehearsals as well as participation in the show are included in the session fee.
DIY Choreography for Individuals and Small Groups (Applications Will Open in Late April/Early May)
Cost: No charge to perform. Optional studio practice packages and photography/videography packages may be purchased separately.
For performers who would like to create their own act to perform in one of the showcases, this is your opportunity! DIY performers who apply and are chosen to perform will receive benefits like access to exclusive performer in-studio practice times, dress and tech rehearsals, and more!
