Dear Community Member,
Brass Butterflies pole and aerial studio is working to expand how we support the growth of local performance artists by creating opportunities for members of our studio community to participate in the creation of pre-professional circus and performing arts productions. In doing so, we are also bringing exciting, accessible, and affordable new entertainment experiences to the Waterloo Region.

In April 2025, as part of the Spring Showcase, Brass Butterflies presented their first ever themed, multi-act circus production, The Clockmaker and the Star, choreographed and directed by Emily Wright. View video of the production on our YouTube channel, here: The Clockmaker and the Star on YouTube.
After the positive reception of The Clockmaker and The Star, we were excited to get to work on our next production, and are thrilled to introduce our 2026 spring production, AQUARION.
Our 2026 themed production will be called AQUARION and will be presented in the second half of the Spring Circus Showcase. AQUARION is and aquatic themed show featuring enchanting sea creatures. The first half of the showcase will be dedicated to individual acts created by our students and instructors.
AQUARION is a multi-disciplinary production that tells an underwater tale through aerial arts, acrobatics, music, and other circus disciplines. Featuring a cast made up of Brass Butterflies students, instructors, and some special guests from the community, as well as in-house writing, choreography, direction, costume making, and set design, our aim is to create a truly grassroots experience for everyone involved.
Creating and presenting a production of this kind at low or no cost to the performers and production staff, while at the same time keeping ticket prices accessible for the audience, would be virtually impossible without some outside help. Your financial support would help us fund the realities of running a stage show (venue rental, costumes, specialty equipment and technicians, set and props, etc.) while contributing to the development and enrichment of emerging performing artists in the Region of Waterloo. Sponsoring this production will also connect you and your business with the local performing arts community as well as our enthusiastic supporters.
